If you have yet to hear the news, the Falcon's women's basketball team won the Blue Angel Tip Off Tournament this weekend in dominating fashion. The four team tournament gave the Falcons a great chance to show off their new and improved squad under newly hired head coach J.R. Fredette.
The Falcons first game took place on Saturday, as the girls easily dispatched Yeshiva University with a 102-47 win. The dominating victory was led by Lindsey Karle and Lianna Carrero who sored 23 and 15 points respectively.
The Semi-Final victory was just the beginning for the Falcons as they won the tournament; beating the College of New Rochelle by a score of 95-52. Carrero led the Falcons with 27 points scored and helped the Falcons improve to an impressive 3-0 record early in the 2012-2013 campaign.
The Falcons have compeletely dominated competition early in the season winning their first three games by 30 points or more in their first three games. Their largest margin of victory by the Falcons this season was 55 points against Yeshiva University, an astonishing margin.
This season is looking very promising for the Falcons' women's basketball team, so get out and support them! Also, while your at the game, keep an ear out for the new voice of the Falcons, yours truly, Sunshine!
